Itinerary:
Day 1: Australia (or New Zealand) to Cairo, Egypt. Depart Australia or New Zealand on your international flight bound for Cairo.
Day 2: Welcome to Cairo. Arrive in Cairo, where a representative meets you at the airport and transfers you to your hotel.
Day 3: Pyramids, Sphinx, Saqqara and Memphis. Explore the Great Pyramid of Giza and the Sphinx with an Egyptologist guide, then visit the ancient capital of Memphis and the Step Pyramid at Saqqara.
Day 4: Egyptian Museum, Salah El Deen Citadel, Muhammad Ali Mosque and Old Cairo. Tour the treasure filled Egyptian Museum, the mediaeval Citadel and the Alabaster Mosque, then wander the churches of Coptic Old Cairo.
Day 5: Cairo to Siwa Oasis. Journey across the western desert to the palm fringed Siwa Oasis and enjoy a traditional dinner on arrival.
Day 6: Siwa Desert, Mountain of the Dead and Alexander the Great Temple. Visit the rock cut tombs of the Mountain of the Dead, the Shali Fortress and the Temple of the Oracle before a desert sunset.
Day 7: Cleopatra's Pool and Salt Lakes. Swim in the natural spring of Cleopatra's Pool and float in Siwa's hyper saline salt lakes, with an optional 4x4 desert safari in the afternoon.
Day 8: Siwa to Alexandria. Travel to the Mediterranean city of Alexandria and spend the day at leisure exploring its souks and seaside Corniche.
Day 9: Alexandria City Tour to Cairo. Tour Pompey's Pillar, the Catacombs and the Library of Alexandria before returning to Cairo for the evening.
Day 10: Cairo to Aswan and begin 3 night 4 star Nile cruise. Fly to Aswan, visit the High Dam and Philae Temple, then board your Nile River cruise ship.
Day 11: Aswan to Kom Ombo. Sail to Kom Ombo to see the temple of Sobek and Horus, with an optional excursion to Abu Simbel and a Galabeya party on board.
Day 12: Edfu Temple to Luxor. Visit the Temple of Horus at Edfu, then continue to Luxor for the Karnak and Luxor temples and an on board folklore show.
Day 13: Luxor and Valley of the Kings. Explore the royal tombs of the Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon.
Day 14: Luxor to Hurghada Red Sea. Transfer to Hurghada for three nights at an all inclusive Red Sea resort.
Day 15: Hurghada Red Sea Free Day. Relax on the beach or try optional water activities such as snorkelling, diving and windsurfing.
Day 16: Hurghada Red Sea Free Day. Another day at leisure, with optional safari, submarine or boat trips available at the resort.
Day 17: Hurghada, Red Sea to Cairo. Transfer back to Cairo, with the option to visit the new Grand Egyptian Museum.
Day 18: Cairo, Egypt to Australia (or New Zealand). Enjoy a final breakfast before transferring to the airport for your return flight.
Day 19: Arrive in Australia (or New Zealand). Arrive home, with some flights landing the following day.
