Itinerary:
Day 1: Australia to Phuket, Thailand. Fly from Australia or New Zealand to tropical Phuket, where a representative transfers you to your hotel. Spend the rest of the day at leisure soaking up the island atmosphere.
Day 2: Phuket Elephant Sanctuary. Visit an ethical sanctuary that cares for retired working elephants, watching them roam, bathe and forage freely. Feed the elephants and stroll the canopy walkway before a vegetarian Thai lunch.
Day 3: Khao Sok Floating Bungalows. Travel to Khao Sok National Park and board a long tail boat across the stunning Cheow Lan Lake. Explore the Pakarang Caves and spend the night at a floating resort surrounded by rainforest.
Day 4: Khao Sok to Krabi, Night Food Safari. Enjoy a morning wildlife safari by longboat spotting birds, monkeys and gibbons, then transfer to Krabi. In the evening join a guided food safari to taste local Thai delicacies.
Day 5: Hong Island Snorkelling Tour. Cruise to Hong Island and its neighbours, swimming and snorkelling in emerald lagoons ringed by limestone cliffs. Enjoy lunch on a white sand beach with the option to climb to a panoramic viewpoint.
Day 6: Krabi, Day at Leisure. Spend the day exploring Krabi at your own pace or join an optional tour. Options include the Tiger Cave Temple, a hot spring waterfall and the Emerald Pool.
Day 7: Krabi to Koh Lanta. Travel by car and ferry to the tranquil island of Koh Lanta. Settle into your hotel and enjoy the rest of the day relaxing by the sea.
Day 8: Koh Lanta, Day at Leisure. Explore this laid back island independently or take an optional island hopping tour. Highlights on offer include the Four Islands trip and the famous Emerald Cave.
Day 9: Koh Lanta to Phuket, City Tour. Return to Phuket and tour its highlights, from the views at Promthep Cape to the ornate Chalong Temple. Wander the colourful streets of Phuket Old Town and sample local flavours.
Day 10: Phuket to Australia. At the appropriate time transfer to the airport for your return flight home. Make your own onward travel arrangements on arrival.
