Begin in the romantic canal city of Venice before boarding fast trains to fashionable Milan, artistic Florence and the ancient streets of Rome. Between travel days you have plenty of free time to wander piazzas, admire world famous art and sample regional cuisine. A dedicated tour leader travels with the group throughout, handling the logistics so you can simply soak up the views.

Itinerary:
Day 1: Australia (or New Zealand) to Venice, Italy. Depart on your international flight bound for Venice. Some departures may leave on Day 2 depending on flight schedules.
Day 2: Welcome to Venice. Arrive in Venice, make your own way to the hotel and relax at leisure. Meet your tour leader, who accompanies the group for the entire journey.
Day 3: Venice Free Day. Spend a full day exploring Venice, cruising the canals by water bus and wandering to St Mark's Square and the Rialto Bridge. Optional guided walks and a Doge's Palace visit are available.
Day 4: Venice to Milan by train. Take the roughly 2.5 hour train to fashionable Milan and check in to your central hotel. Enjoy free time to see the Duomo and Piazza del Duomo or add optional activities.
Day 5: Milan to Florence by train. Travel about 2 hours by train to the Renaissance city of Florence and settle into your central hotel. The rest of the day is free to admire highlights like the Duomo and Ponte Vecchio.
Day 6: Florence Free Day. Enjoy another full day in Florence at your own pace. Optional activities include guided walks, gallery visits, a Tuscan dinner, a gelato making class or a day trip to Pisa.
Day 7: Florence to Rome by train. Board the roughly 2 hour train to the Eternal City of Rome and make your way to your central hotel. Use your free time to see the Trevi Fountain, Pantheon and Colosseum.
Day 8: Rome Free Day. Spend another free day soaking up Rome, perhaps strolling the bohemian Trastevere district. Optional guided tours cover the Colosseum, Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel.
Day 9: Rome, Italy to Australia (or New Zealand). Make your own way to the airport for your return flight home. Some flights depart later in the day, with hotel common areas available beforehand.
Day 10: Arrive Australia (or New Zealand). Arrive back home, with some flights landing a day later.
