Treasures of Peru is a 13 day small group journey through the heart of the ancient Inca world. Travel from the colourful capital of Lima into the Sacred Valley, ride the PeruRail Expedition train to Aguas Calientes and stand before the mountaintop citadel of Machu Picchu. Explore the cobbled streets of Cusco, cross the high Andes to Puno and sail Lake Titicaca to meet the reed island communities of the Uros. The package brings together flights, comfortable hotels, rail travel and guided touring across Peru's greatest landmarks.

Itinerary:
Day 1: Australia (or New Zealand) to Lima, Peru. Depart for Lima where a representative transfers you to your hotel. Enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure.
Day 2: Lima City Tour. Explore Huaca Pucllana, the Plaza de Armas and the Convent of San Francisco. Descend into the eerie San Francisco Catacombs before free time.
Day 3: Lima to Cusco and the Sacred Valley. Fly to Cusco and journey into the Sacred Valley, stopping in Chinchero for a traditional Andean weaving demonstration. Continue on to Ollantaytambo for the night.
Day 4: Sacred Valley. Enjoy a full day exploring the Ollantaytambo ruins and the colourful Pisac market. Visit the colonial church at Chinchero before returning to your hotel.
Day 5: Peru Expedition Rail to Aguas Calientes. Board the PeruRail Expedition train through dramatic changing scenery to Aguas Calientes. Explore the town, with an optional express Inca Trail trek available at extra cost.
Day 6: Machu Picchu to Cusco. Rise early for a guided two hour tour of the Machu Picchu citadel and its iconic landmarks. Return by train and road to Cusco for the evening.
Day 7: Cusco City Tour. Take a half day tour visiting the Koricancha, the Cathedral, Sacsayhuaman and Tambomachay. Spend the rest of the day at leisure or join an optional cooking class.
Day 8: Cusco Day at Leisure. Enjoy a free day to explore Cusco, the oldest continuously inhabited city in the Americas. Optional tours to Maras and Moray or Rainbow Mountain are available.
Day 9: Cusco to Puno. Travel by road to Puno with scenic stops at the Andahuaylillas chapel, Raqchi and La Raya Pass. Arrive at the lakeside city of Puno in the early evening.
Day 10: Lake Titicaca and the Uros Floating Islands. Cruise Lake Titicaca to the reed islands of the Uros people and continue to Taquile Island. Enjoy a cultural welcome and lunch before returning to Puno.
Day 11: Puno, Peru to Australia (or New Zealand). Transfer to Juliaca Airport for your flight home via Lima.
Day 12: In transit. Spend the day travelling on your international flights home.
Day 13: Arrive Australia (or New Zealand). Arrive home and make your own onward travel arrangements.
Inclusions: All international full service flights and internal flights, round trip ticket aboard the PeruRail Expedition Train, 10 nights of 3 and 4 star hotel accommodation, 12 meals including daily breakfast, guided touring with local representatives, airport and hotel transfers.
