Itinerary:
Day 1: Australia (or New Zealand) to Negombo, Sri Lanka. Depart home and arrive in Negombo where a representative transfers you to your hotel. The rest of the day is free to relax.
Day 2: Negombo to Anuradhapura. Tour the Negombo Fish Market and colonial-era Negombo Fort before travelling on to Anuradhapura for the evening at leisure.
Day 3: Wilpattu National Park Half Day Safari. Enjoy a morning at leisure then head out on an afternoon safari in Wilpattu, hoping to spot leopards, elephants and sloth bears.
Day 4: Anuradhapura to Jaffna. Journey north to the historic city of Jaffna and settle in with a free evening.
Day 5: Jaffna City Tour. Visit the Nallur Kandaswamy Kovil, the 17th century Jaffna Fort and the lively Jaffna Market.
Day 6: Jaffna Free Day. A full day at leisure to relax or explore Jaffna at your own pace.
Day 7: Jaffna to Trincomalee to Nilaveli. Travel to coastal Trincomalee and tour the Portuguese Fort, Koneswaram Temple and Bhadrakali Amman Temple.
Day 8: Nilaveli Day at Leisure. Relax on the beach at Nilaveli or make an optional trip into nearby Trincomalee.
Day 9: Nilaveli to Polonnaruwa to Sigiriya. Explore the UNESCO listed ancient city of Polonnaruwa en route before checking in at Sigiriya.
Day 10: Sigiriya Rock Fortress. Climb the iconic Sigiriya Rock Fortress for sweeping views over the royal water gardens.
Day 11: Sigiriya to Kandy. Travel to the cultural capital Kandy and tour the Kandy City Centre and vibrant Kandy Market.
Day 12: Kandy to Nuwara Eliya. Drive to the hill station of Nuwara Eliya, passing tea plantations, waterfalls and colonial bungalows.
Day 13: Nuwara Eliya Day at Leisure. A free day to explore Nuwara Eliya or join an optional trek in Horton Plains National Park.
Day 14: Nuwara Eliya Train Ride to Ella and Nine Arches Bridge. Board a scenic train to Ella then visit the Nine Arches Bridge and Little Adam's Peak.
Day 15: Ella to Weerawila. Enjoy a scenic drive south to Weerawila with an optional safari in Yala National Park.
Day 16: Weerawila to Galle to Kosgoda. Tour the UNESCO listed Galle Fort before continuing to your beachside hotel in Kosgoda.
Day 17: Kosgoda Beach Day at Leisure. Relax on Kosgoda Beach or join an optional cooking class or Madu River boat ride.
Day 18: Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery to Bentota. Visit a sea turtle hatchery and its conservation project, then transfer to Bentota.
Day 19: Bentota Day at Leisure. Spend the day on Bentota Beach or take an optional visit to the Lunuganga Estate.
Day 20: Bentota to Colombo. Transfer to Colombo for a city tour taking in the Floating Market, Port City and Independence Square.
Day 21: Colombo, Sri Lanka to Australia (or New Zealand). Transfer to the airport at the appropriate time for your return flight home.
Day 22: Arrive Australia (or New Zealand). Arrive home, concluding your Sri Lankan adventure.
