This 11 day journey traces the length of ancient Egypt, from the pyramid fields of Giza to the temple towns of the Nile Valley. You will explore Cairo's pharaonic museums and Coptic quarter before flying south to Aswan to begin a three night cruise aboard a four star Nile ship. Along the way, Egyptologist guides bring Kom Ombo, Edfu, Karnak and the Valley of the Kings to life. Return international flights, internal flights, cruising, hotels and 14 meals are all included.

Itinerary:
Day 1: Australia (or New Zealand) to Cairo, Egypt. Depart Australia or New Zealand on your international flight bound for Cairo. Meals are served in flight.
Day 2: Welcome to Cairo. Arrive in Cairo, meet your representative and transfer to the hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure.
Day 3: Pyramids and Sphinx. Tour the Pyramids of Giza and the Great Sphinx with an Egyptologist guide, including the Great Pyramid of Khufu and the Valley Temple. An optional visit to the new Grand Egyptian Museum is available.
Day 4: Egyptian Museum and Old Cairo. Explore the Egyptian Museum's antiquities, then visit Coptic Cairo with the Hanging Church and the Babylon Fortress. A five star Dahabiya sailboat upgrade is available.
Day 5: Cairo to Aswan, begin the three night Nile cruise. Fly to Aswan for a tour of the High Dam and the Unfinished Obelisk, then board your four star ship for dinner and entertainment.
Day 6: Aswan to Kom Ombo. Cruise to Kom Ombo to see the twin temples of the gods Sobek and Horus with your guide. An optional early excursion to Abu Simbel is offered.
Day 7: Edfu to Luxor. Visit the well preserved Temple of Horus at Edfu, then sail on to Luxor to explore the vast Karnak Temple. Enjoy a folkloric show on board in the evening.
Day 8: Luxor, Valley of the Kings tour. Cross to the West Bank for the Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon before checking into your Luxor hotel.
Day 9: Luxor to Cairo, free day. Fly back to Cairo and spend the day at leisure in the sprawling capital on the Nile.
Day 10: Cairo to Australia (or New Zealand). After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your return flight home.
Day 11: Arrive in Australia (or New Zealand). Arrive home, with some flights landing the following day.
