Itinerary:
Day 1: Australia (or New Zealand) to Hanoi, Vietnam. Depart home for your flight to Hanoi, where a tour representative meets you and transfers you to your hotel.
Day 2: Hanoi. A free day at leisure to explore the capital, with optional tours available such as a Hanoi city tour or an evening water puppet performance and Vietnamese dinner.
Day 3: Hanoi to Ha Giang. Travel north into the mountains to Ha Giang, the launching point for the spectacular Ha Giang Loop, arriving in the late afternoon for an evening at leisure.
Day 4: Ha Giang to Dong Van. Journey to Dong Van via the Quan Ba twin mountains, the Tham Ma pass and the flower filled Sung La Valley, with a visit to the Dong Van cultural museum.
Day 5: Lung Cu National Flag Point and Lo Lo Chai Village. Drive to the northernmost flag tower for panoramic views, then walk to Lo Lo Chai village to learn about local daily life and culture.
Day 6: Dong Van to Cao Bang. Stop at the Ma Pi Leng Pass and cruise the Nho Que River to Tu San Canyon, then walk to a H'mong village before arriving at your 5-star hotel in Cao Bang.
Day 7: Nguom Ngao Cave, Ban Gioc Waterfall and Truc Lam Meditation Monastery. Explore the vast Nguom Ngao Cave, take a bamboo boat to the mighty Ban Gioc waterfall, and visit a hilltop Buddhist monastery.
Day 8: Cao Bang to Hanoi. Enjoy breakfast then travel back to Hanoi, arriving at your hotel in the evening.
Day 9: Hanoi Free Day. A day at leisure in Hanoi, with an optional Ninh Binh, Hoa Lu and Tam Coc day tour available.
